Food Lending On You
Seeking ways to reduce plastics.
In this project, I attended a module that allowed me to work with students undertaking different diplomas, and to think out of the box to address various issues in Singapore.
In this group of 4, we focused on this question:
"How can we encourage tertiary students to take away using reusable lunchboxes?"

In order to better understand plastic waste, I led the group in conducting literature reviews. We researched the waste generated across the years in Singapore, its impacts, and plastic-reducing initiatives. Then, we brainstormed solutions for our question.
With the research and ideas as our foundation, we created a survey via Google Forms to gauge our school's student population's opinion on single-use plastics. I then analysed the results while my group members started interviews to collect more information.

Based on our results, we then returned to our ideas. We combined, eliminated, and adjusted them, creating FLOY, short for Food Lending On You.
FLOY features vending machines that lends out lunchboxes for students on campus. This is paired by an intuitive application that tracks the loans for the students, and offers incentives based on a point-collecting system.
