A project to raise youth's awareness on Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and reduce its stigmatisation.

Modules:

  • Introduction to Abnormal Psychology

  • Health & Behaviour Management

  • Behaviour Modification & Intervention

  • Statistics & Research Methods II

  • Group Dynamics & Facilitationc

After conducting research on GAD’s signs and symptoms, and preconceptions on seeking help, we delved deeper into how to speak to those with GAD, and healthy coping mechanisms for anxiety. Together, we delivered a web-article, poster, infographic, and video to The Psychology Practice.

I mainly contributed in the research, and the creation of the video. Utilising Photoshop and Premiere Pro, I animated a 2-minutes long video on how to talk to those with GAD, and acted as its audio editor.

The entirety of this project is well-received by classmates, lecturers, and therapists at The Psychology Practice. They were immensely impressed by the work, and the video is now featured on their YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Not only that, it was also featured on the Instagram pages of Ngee Ann Polytechnic's counselling care and Singapore Psychological Society.

During this period, I learnt the importance of time management and progress checks. It is only through carefully distributing the team’s workload and time that the project was completed smoothly. Moreover, I honed my teamwork, communication skills, and responsibility. All in all, I realised that patience will lead to good results.
